Welcome Message
On behalf of The Obstetrical & Gynecological Society of Singapore (OGSS), we would invite you to join us for the 8th Singapore International Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (8SICOG) where you will have the opportunity to hear and interact with influential internationally renowned scientists and clinicians.
The scientific programme has a lot to offer to the various subspecialties in our discipline and also covers general topics which will be of interest to many. It is an occasion to keep abreast of new developments in the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and also to share aspects of your own work. The meeting will provide a platform for networking with colleagues and for catching up with old acquaintances.
The social programme offers the opportunity for our overseas colleagues to experience some of Singapore ’s renowned hospitality and its latest attractions.
We hope that many of you will come to the Congress and contribute to what we believe will be a highly successful and stimulating meeting.

Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS)
Foreword |
The Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS) bids a warm welcome to everyone for the Singapore International Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology! This is the 8th meeting of the Singapore congress which happens once every 2 years, which also means that the congress is now 16 years old.
The Society takes pride in careful planning of the congress, ensuring that there is change and diversity in the contents, taking into account the changing practice of medicine throughout the world. Hence the theme of this year’s Congress: “ Women’s Health in a Globalised World: Celebrating Differences, Embracing Diversity”.
We have called upon an international panel of speakers, and together with many renowned regional and local speakers, to discuss and debate on the evolving care of women’s health.
As much as the scientific program is attractive, we must not forget to play and relax. This is also a time when old friends across continents and time zones re-connect, and new friends embrace. Singapore has always been a melting pot and it is even more evident in the scientific community it shares with the world. Add to that the unique culinary experience and latest exhilarating star attractions of our island, and there is no doubt that this will be a congress that everyone will enjoy.
We look forward to seeing you in August 2011.
Yours sincerely

Dr Yoke-Fai FONG
President, OGSS
